For a special treat, press warm caramel apples into chopped peanuts, candy-coated chocolates, candy corn or red cinnamon candies. Ingredients:
2 (14-oz.) pkgs. caramels, unwrapped |
1/4 cup water |
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon |
8 wooden skewers |
8 apples |
Directions:
1. Combine caramels, water and cinnamon in a 3-quart oval slow cooker. Cover and cook on high setting 1 to 1 1/2 hours, stirring every 20 minutes. 2. Insert skewers into apples. Reduce heat to low setting; dip apples into hot caramel and turn to coat, scraping excess caramel from bottom of apples. Place on greased wax paper to cool. |
