A NICE LIGHT SPONGE TO BE USED AS A CAKE WITH JAM AND CREAM OR WITH FRUIT AS A BASIS FOR A DESSERT Ingredients:
4 tablespoons of self raising flour |
3 tablespoons of caster sugar |
2 eggs |
1/2 teaspoonful bicarbo ate of soda |
1 teaspoonful cream of tarter |
3 tablespoons of milk |
2 tablespoons of water |
little almond essence flavouring - or other as desired. |
Directions:
1. MIX ALL THE DRY INGREDIENTS TOGETHER THOROUGHLY 2. BEAT UP THE EGS WELL AND MIX WELL INTO THE DRY INGREDIENTS. 3. NOW ADD THE MILK AND WATER AND ESSENCE, BEATING WELL. 4. TURN INTO A WELL GREASED CAKE TIN 5. COOK IN THE OVEN FOR 2O MINUTES 6. AT GAS MARKK 6 |
