5 1/2 cups low-sodium beef broth |
1 cup caramelized onion |
coarse salt |
ground pepper |
country bread, sliced thick |
gruyere cheese, grated |
Directions:
1. Heat broiler. 2. Bring the broth and onions to a simmer over medium heat; season with salt and pepper. 3. Top bread with cheese and season with pepper; broil until toasted. 4. Serve soup with cheese toasts. |
