Perfect for a comfort food yearning on a cold night - many ingredients are already on hand. Ingredients:
i large can cream of chicken soup |
1 large onion, finely chopped |
3-4 boneless chicken breasts and/or thighs |
1 stick butter |
1/2 - 3/4 cup chopped celery |
1-2 cans refrigerated flaky biscuits |
1 tsp. poultry seasoning |
pepper and salt (taste first) |
dash of garlic powder |
Directions:
1. Place soup, chicken, onion, and celery and a large pot with about 4 cups of water. Cook until chicken is done. Shred chicken and return to pot. Add the butter and seasonings, bring to a boil. Take biscuits from can and pinch chunks of them into the stew. Turn heat to medium, cover, and cook about 15 minutes or until the dumplings are firm. Let simmer until ready to serve. |
