This is a quick recipe that is really filling. It is perfect for cold nights, and don't forget about the toppings: cheese, chives, sour cream, or whatever floats your boat. Ingredients:
1lb. ground beef |
1 large onion, chopped |
1 large green pepper, chopped |
2 garlic cloves, crushed |
1 tbsp chili powder |
1 tsp oregano |
1 tsp cumin |
1/4 tsp cayenne pepper |
14 oz. can of kidney beans, well drained |
19 oz can of crushed tomatoes, with sauce |
Directions:
1. In large frying plan place beef, onion, green pepper, and crushed garlic. Cook, uncovered, over medium heat until meat is no longer pink, (Stir often.) 2. Drain off fat, add seasoning and cook an additional 5 minutes. 3. Place all ingredients in large pot over medium heat. Cook for another 30 minutes, stirring occasionally. 4. Serve in a bowl with choice of toppings. It is great over cornbread. |
