FARMHOUSE EGGS This recipe came from an estate sale. I obtained it when I purchased the family collection from the Printey Estate in Forney, Texas in 2001. Ingredients:
1-1/2 cup fresh white breadcrumbs |
3 tablespoons chopped fresh chives |
3 ounces sharp cheddar cheese |
4 eggs |
1 teaspoon salt |
1 teaspoon cayenne pepper |
1 cup half and half |
fresh chive pieces |
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 350 then butter glass pie dish. 2. Sprinkle half of the breadcrumbs in prepared pie dish. 3. Sprinkle with half of the chopped chives and half of the grated cheese. 4. Carefully break eggs into pie dish spacing evenly. 5. Top with remaining breadcrumbs, chives and grated cheese. 6. Season with cayenne and salt then pour half-and-half over mixture and bake 20 minutes. 7. Garnish with chive pieces and serve immediately. |
