Fantastic Sweet and Sour Sauce |

I have searched the internet for the best sweet and sour sauce, and finally after much research went back to basics. I starting with pineapple juice adding ingredients one by one and testing as I go. I found that cider vinegar was better suited to my pallet than white wine vinegar, and leaving the soy sauce out altogether made it taste to much of pineapple. Ingredients:
1 cup good quality pineapple juice (not from concentrate) |
2 teaspoons blue dragon sweet chili sauce |
2 tablespoons cider vinegar |
2 teaspoons low sodium soy sauce (i use kikkoman) |
2 teapoons cornflour |
Directions:
1. Mix cornflour with a little of the pineapple juice, and add all ingredients to a saucepan and slowly bring to the boil stirring continuously. 2. Add small amount of red food colouring (optional). |
