This is a fantastic comfort food. Applesauce is the secret ingredient to a moist, wholesome meatloaf the family will love. Ingredients:
1 lb hamburger (any fat percentage) |
1/2 lb maple sausage |
1/2 cup unsweetened applesauce |
2 tablespoons steak sauce |
1/2 cup green pepper, diced |
1 onion, diced |
1 (16 ounce) can diced tomatoes with green chilies |
1 (16 ounce) can tomato sauce |
1 egg |
3/4 cup 2% low-fat milk |
1 cup instant oats |
1 dash salt |
1 dash pepper |
1 tablespoon garlic powder |
6 slices bacon, cut in half |
1/2 cup ketchup |
Directions:
1. In a food processer, mix together all ingredients except the bacon and ketchup. :Pulse mix about 9 or 10 pulses. 2. Remove from processer and place in muffin tins (3/4 full) or cake pan. Put 1 slice of bacon on top of meat mixture. Bake 25 minutes in a 375 degree oven. Remove from oven and top with ketchup. Place back in the oven to bake for an additional 15 minutes or until ketchup is hot and thick. |
