This is my absolute FAVORITE garlic bread recipe of all time! I hope you enjoy it! Ingredients:
6 to 8 large garlic cloves, chopped |
1/4 cup chopped flat-leaf parsley |
1/4 cup chopped fresh oregano leaves |
1/2 teaspoon kosher salt (it seems like a lot of salt, so maybe go a little light, but the salty flavor is what makes it.) |
freshly ground black pepper |
1/2 cup olive oil |
1 loaf of your favorite grocery store bread. pick something crusty, like ciabatta. i always use this portugese salaio bread they have at my grocery store. just think crusty italian-type bread |
2 tablespoons unsalted butter...i use olivio or something margarine-like |
Directions:
1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F. 2. Place the peeled, whole garlic cloves in the bowl of a food processor and process until minced. 3. Add the parsley, oregano, salt and pepper and pulse a few times till it starts to look kind of pesto like. Not totally blended though. 4. Heat the olive oil in a medium saute pan and add the garlic mixture. Remove the pan from the heat. 5. Slice the bread in half horizontally, and spread the butter on top half. Spread the garlic mixture on the bottom half of the bread, and put the halves together. 6. Wrap the bread in aluminum foil. 7. Place the bread in the oven and bake for 5 minutes. Open the foil, and continue baking for an additional 5 minutes. 8. Cut into slices and enjoy! Trust me, there will be no left overs! |
