My mother has been making this sauce since before I can remember. Picking the tomatoes off the vine in our garden. The smell of it cooking makes our house the most welcoming on the block, and the bright red color of the sauce from using vine ripened tomatoes makes it a real treat. Ingredients:
4 cups tomato sauce |
8 cups diced tomatoes |
1/4 teaspoon garlic powder |
1 teaspoon oregano |
1 teaspoon sugar |
1/8 teaspoon msg |
1/8 teaspoon onion salt |
1/4 cup dried parsley |
1/3 cup grated parmesan cheese |
3 lbs link sausage |
Directions:
1. Brown link sausage, and cut into thirds.
2. Combine all ingredients into large sauce pan.
3. Cover and simmer.
4. Cook for 4 hours, stirring occasionally.
