this is my own recipe for home-made Familia.. I don't put fruit in the dry mix, instead I add it to the bowl in the morning. I found the fruit stays softer this way. Ingredients:
4 cups old fashion rolled oats |
1/2 cup wheat flakes |
1/3 cup rye flakes |
1/3 cup almonds ground |
1/3 cup filberts toasted lightly and chopped |
1/4 cup toasted wheat germ |
Directions:
1. mix all ingredients together in a large bowl 2. store in an airtight container in a cool spot 3. to serve: place 1/4 to 1/2 cup in a bowl 4. pour milk or soy milk over cereal make it look soupy 5. add honey or sugar to taste 6. add raisins, dried apples, chopped fresh apples are great 7. or any extra fruit or nuts that are in season 8. let sit for approx. 20 - 30 mins.. enjoy. it's very filling |
