I have to admit this is best lasagna recipe ever. It was my ex-husband's grandmother's secret recipe... so I figured I'd give the secret to the whole world! Shhhh! ;) Ingredients:
3 lbs ground beef |
1 (28 ounce) can whole tomatoes |
1 (28 ounce) can tomato sauce |
1 (6 ounce) can tomato paste |
1 quart ragu tomato sauce |
2 large onions, chopped |
2 teaspoons garlic powder |
2 teaspoons black pepper |
2 tablespoons salt |
1 tablespoon crushed red pepper flakes |
1 tablespoon oregano |
3 bay leaves |
2 tablespoons sugar |
1/2 lb mozzarella cheese |
1/2 lb provolone cheese, sliced |
1 lb ricotta cheese |
1 large lasagna noodle |
Directions:
1. Brown ground beef with the onions, then mix first 13 ingredients & cook for 3 hours, then assemble lasagna as per below:. 2. Cover bottom of the dish with sauce then layer noodles, ricotta, sauce. Repeat two times, then top with provolone, sauce then mozzarella. 3. Bake at 350 until cheese is brown - about 45 minute. 4. Let stand 20 minutes before serving. |
