Ingredients:
4 tablespoon(s) butter |
2 1/2 cup(s) chicken stock |
2 tablespoon(s) chives,chopped |
2 clove(s) garlic |
1/2 cup(s) gruyere cheese, shredded |
1 cup(s) onion, chopped |
2 cup(s) orzo,uncooked |
salt and pepper |
Directions:
1. Melt butter in heavy skillet over medium low heat. Add onion and cook until soft but not browned, about 6 minutes. Add garlic and cook 2 minutes more. Heat chicken stock to boiling. Add orzo to the onion and garlic in the skillet. Stir in hot chicken stock. Bring to a boil, cover and remove from heat. Let stand covered for about 25 minutes until the liquid is absorbed. Stir in cheese until melted. Add chives and season with salt and pepper. Orzo will be creamy. Serve hot. |
