This Recipe comes from the Old Favorite Honey recipes cookbooklet from the American Honey Institute. Cookbook is from 1941. Ingredients:
1/2 cup butter |
1/2 cup sugar |
1/2 cup honey |
1 egg |
2/3 cup flour |
1/2 teaspoon baking soda |
1/2 teaspoon baking powder |
1/4 teaspoon salt |
1 cup quick-cooking oats |
1 cup shredded coconut |
1 teaspoon vanilla |
1/2 cup chopped nutmeats |
Directions:
1. Cream butter, sugar, and honey together until light and fluffy. 2. Add well beaten egg, blend together. 3. Sift flour with dry ingredients; stir well. 4. Add oats, cocoanut and vanilla. 5. Add nutmeats. 6. Spread on greased baking sheets; bake in moderate oven 350°F 7. Bake about twelve to fifteen minutes. 8. Cut in bars. |
