Erin's Chili Con Carne With Beans |

Modification of Loves2Teach's recipe. I make it with extra-lean ground beef and different spices. Ingredients:
2 lbs extra lean ground beef |
1 (29 ounce) can tomato sauce |
1 (29 ounce) can red kidney beans (no liquid) |
1 (29 ounce) can white kidney beans (no liquid) |
1 medium onion, diced |
1 jalapeno pepper, diced (add seeds for more spice) |
1 cup mushroom, diced |
3 medium tomatoes, chopped |
1 teaspoon cumin powder |
2 tablespoons chili powder |
1 1/2 teaspoons black pepper |
2 teaspoons salt |
2 cups water |
Directions:
1. Brown beef and drain fat. 2. Add in remaining ingredients. 3. Cook on low-medium heat for 2-3 hours. 4. For faster cooking, cook on medium and add only one cup of water for about a hour. |
