A strawberry appetizer with almond and garlic sauce! I haven't tried this recipe yet, am posting it for safekeeping as it looks intriguing! Recipe comes from a local newspaper. Ingredients:
1/2 liter strawberry |
50 g almonds |
1 garlic clove |
3 leaves fresh basil |
3 tablespoons water |
2 tablespoons oil |
1/2 tablespoon wine vinegar |
sugar |
salt |
Directions:
1. Rinse and halve strawberries and divide them between serving bowls. 2. Finely grind almonds and garlic with a hand held blender. Chop basil. Add chopped basil, water, oil, wine vinegar and dashes of sugar and salt to ground almonds & garlic, mix well. 3. Pour sauce over strawberries just before serving. Serve with crusty bread as an appetizer. |
