This recipe is from week 13 of my food blog, Travel by Stove. I am attempting to cook one meal from every nation on Earth, and Armenia is my 13th stop. This is a simple recipe for artichokes, cooked with a tomato and onion sauce. Ingredients:
4 medium artichokes |
2 large onions, sliced thin |
1 teaspoon dried dill |
1 teaspoon parsley |
1 (15 ounce) can tomato sauce |
1/2 cup water |
2 tablespoons lemon juice |
salt and pepper |
Directions:
1. First cook the onions in the water until they become soft. Then add the remaining ingredients and stir. 2. Add the artichokes to the pot and simmer covered, stirring occasionally, for 35 to 45 minutes, or until the artichokes are tender. |
