Classic English popovers that mom used to make. Hollow pastry that you open and add a bit of butter or honey. Ingredients:
1 cup flour - heaping |
1.5 cups milk |
2 eggs |
salt - pinch or two |
1/3 cup cold water |
Directions:
1. Pre-heat oven to 425deg. place large muffin pan in the oven - needs to be smoking hot before adding dough mixture. 2. combine flour, milk, eggs and salt. BEAT together well. 3. let sit for approx 15min. 4. mix in COLD water. 5. spoon approx 2 tbs of dough into each muffin cup. cup should be about half full. 6. bake for 45min at 425deg or until puffy and golden brown on the outside. 7. serve warm. |
