This is an heirloom recipe from my Aunt Clara. Ingredients:
1 (14 1/2 ounce) can green beans, drained |
1 (14 1/2 ounce) can small english peas, drained |
1 onion, sliced thin |
1 (2 ounce) jar pimientos |
1 cup celery, chopped |
3/4 cup sugar |
2/3 cup vinegar (aunt clara used white, i prefer rice) |
1/3 cup canola oil or 1/3 cup vegetable oil |
Directions:
1. Combine first 5 ingredients. 2. Combine sugar, vinegar and oil. 3. Bring to boil and stir until sugar dissolves. 4. Add this mixture to other ingredients. 5. Chill 24 hours before serving. |
