This is a quick english muffin bread. It is soo good toasted. I enjoy this with my morning cup of tea. Ingredients:
5-6c. prairie gold flour (or flour of your choice) |
1/2c. raisins |
2pkg. yeast |
1t. honey (or sugar) |
2t. salt |
1 1/2 t. cinnamon |
1/4t. baking soda |
2c. milk |
1/2c. water |
cornmeal |
Directions:
1. Combine 3c. flour, raisins, yeast, salt, cinnamon, and soda, 2. In a sauce pan add milk, honey (or sugar) and water,heat to 120-130 degrees 3. add wet to dry ingredients, mix well 4. stir in remaining flour to stiffen batter 5. oil baking pans and coat with corn meal 6. divide batter into two loaf pans 7. sprinkle tops with corn meal 8. let rise in warm draft free place for 45 min. 9. bake at 400 degrees for 20-25 min. till browned and hollow sounding 10. cool, slice, and toast! |
