This is a quick and easy pound cake to make.... The recipe came out of my clay pottery cookbook. Ingredients:
1/2 cup butter |
1/4 cup shortening |
1 cup sugar |
3 eggs |
1 1/2 cups all purpose flour |
1/4 teaspoon baking powder |
1/2 cup milk |
1 teaspoon vanilla |
3 teaspoons lemon extract |
Directions:
1. Cream butter and shortening; add sugar and cream again. 2. Add eggs one at a time. 3. Mix dry ingredients and add to creamed mixture. 4. Mix well, add milk and beat 2 minutes. 5. Stir in flavorings. 6. Pour into clay flower baking pot or a small loaf pan and bake 70 -75 minutes. 7. Grease and flour baking dish before pouring batter in. |
