Soft and moist ... this is more like a country cake . Perfect for small gatherings . Ingredients:
200 g butter |
200 g caster sugar |
1 tsp vanilla |
3 eggs |
1 apple , grated |
200 g self raising flour and 50 g plain flour |
100 g sour cream or yogurt |
10 tbsp golden syrup |
Directions:
1. Pre heat the oven at 190 deg C . 2. Line a 20 cm pan . 3. Cream the butter and sugar together . 4. Add the vanilla and eggs. 5. Now , add the apple , flour and yogurt 6. Beat until smooth . 7. Spread 5 tbsp golden syrup on bottom of the pan . 8. Pour the batter on top . 9. Cover it with greased foil with the butter side down and tie it . 10. Place in large baking dish and add hot water half way . 11. Bake for 75 mins . 12. Cool 20 mins out of water . 13. Heat 5 tbsp golden syrup and pour on top 14. Serve it with fresh fruits . |
