Emeril's Penne With Italian Sausage |

This recipe is from Emeril Lagasse. I've been meaning o try it but haven't gotten around to it yet. When I do I will post an update........it sounds delicious! Ingredients:
1 lb penne pasta |
1 lb sweet italian sausage |
2 cups thinly sliced yellow onions |
1 tablespoon minced garlic |
1 teaspoon salt |
1/2 teaspoon pepper |
1/4 cup extra-virgin olive oil |
2 tablespoons chopped fresh basil |
parmesan cheese |
Directions:
1. Cook penne pasta according to package directions. 2. While waiting for pasta to cook, cook crumbled Italian sausage in large skillet, about 7 to 8 minutes. (If sausage is in casings, remove and cook.) After sausage is browned add onions and saute, about 8 to 10 minutes, until golden. Add garlic, salt and pepper and saute for 30 seconds. 3. Drain the cooked pasta and combine with sausage mixture. Add extra-virgin olive oil and fresh basil and toss gently to combine. 4. Serve garnished with Parmesan cheese. |
