Here's a fast dessert for unexpected company! Ingredients:
1 (21 ounce) can cherry pie filling |
2 teaspoons lemon juice |
3 tablespoons light brown sugar |
2 tablespoons flour |
2 tablespoons wheat germ |
1/4 teaspoon cinnamon |
1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg |
2 tablespoons butter |
1/2 cup oatmeal |
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees. 2. Lightly butter a 1 quart casserole dish. 3. Pour in the Cherry Pie filling. 4. Stir in the lemon juice. 5. In a food processor, whirl together the sugar, flour, wheat germ, cinnamon, nutmeg and butter. 6. Add the oatmeal and give it a quick one, two, three pulse. 7. Sprinkle over the cherries. 8. Bake for 25 minutes or until bubbly and browned on top. 9. Serve warm or chilled. |
