A delicious, rich dessert… firm, crisp apples, baked with caramel and almond slivers, on a lovely bed of OREO chocolate baking crumbs, chocolate wafer biscuit, sprinkled with raw sugar, and decked out with a whole cinnamon stick - a real taste treat! Read more ! Ingredients:
2 large ‘gala’ apples |
2 sticks of cinnamon |
1 tsp nutmeg; 1/2 tsp for each apple |
1 round of caramel for each apple (the kind of caramel used for candied apples) |
1/2 tsp pure vanilla extract for each apple |
raw sugar (about 1 tbsp for each apple) plus extra for sprinkling |
almond slivers (your preference of amount) |
chocolate wafer biscuits (2 per apple) |
Directions:
1. Core the apples; do not peel 2. Cut a small slice off the bottom of each apple to allow standing upright in the ramekin 3. Place a layer of OREO crumbs on the bottom of each ramekin 4. Top with one chocolate wafer biscuit 5. Place apple on chocolate base 6. Insert cinnamon stick into cored area 7. Coat with raw sugar Place a dollop of creamery butter on top of the cinnamon stick 8. Add 1/2 tsp of pure vanilla to each ramekin 9. Bake 325*F until the caramel is melted and apples are soft 10. Garnish with a sprinkling of raw sugar and place another chocolate wafer by each apple if desired 11. ENJOY! :+D |
