Molokhiya is also known as Jews Mallow & can be bought in frozen packs from Middle Eastern grocers or if you are in North Africa you will probably have access to the fresh version ;) Molokhiya is often compared to spinach but the tastes are really very different. This dish is very quick to make & eaten with flat bread for a tasty meal. Ingredients:
14 ounces frozen molukhia (1 pack of molokhiya) |
1 tablespoon butter |
1 tablespoon garlic, minced |
1 teaspoon salt |
2 tablespoons ground coriander |
Directions:
1. Put the butter in a pan & on a low heat, cook the Molokhiya from frozen until heated through. 2. Add the minced garlic, salt & coriander. Cook for a couple more minutes then serve with fresh flat bread / toasted pita etc. DO NOT ALLOW TO BOIL. |
