My mom made this on Sunday mornings while I was growing up. When I started making it on my own as an adult for my friends and family, they were wowed by it. I couldn't believe no one had ever heard of it!! Hope you like it! Read more ! Ingredients:
4-5 hard boiled eggs |
2 t butter |
2 t all purpose flour |
1 c milk |
sliced bread for toast |
salt and pepper, to taste |
Directions:
1. Peel eggs, separate whites from yolk. Chop whites into bite size chunks, mash yolks with tines of fork, set aside. 2. Melt butter in pot on stovetop med to med-high heat. 3. Mix in flour to form a roux. 4. Wisk in milk, bring to a boil, adding salt/pepper to taste. Should become gravy-like consistency. 5. Remove from heat and mix in chopped egg whites. 6. Serve ladled over toast with mashed egg yolks sprinkled on top. 7. Enjoy! |
