This is another food we had a lot when I was a kid. I made this a lot for my own kids and now they make it for their own. It is a great way to get kids to eat eggs. And did I mention it is Fast! Ingredients:
1 egg |
1 slice bread |
1 tablespoon butter |
salt |
fresh ground pepper |
Directions:
1. Butter the slice of bread on both sides. Use a large round cookie cutter or a glass to cut a circle in the middle of the bread. 2. Heat a well seasoned cast iron frying pan (or non-stick if you don't have cast iron) and place the slice of bread with the hole in it in the pan. Put a teaspoon of butter in the hole. Put Egg in the hole. Salt and pepper. 3. Cook for 2 minutes and flip egg and bread to cook on the other side until the egg is cooked the way you like it. (my family like then over easy) 4. In the same pan toast the round you cut out of the bread. |
