I use to have this alot as a child. It’s now one of my daughter's favorites. This is a great alternative to eggs with a side of toast. Ingredients:
1 egg |
1 slice of bread |
butter |
salt |
pepper |
Directions:
1. Cut a circle in center of bread (this can be done with a cookie/ biscuit cutter or even the top of a drinking glass). See Photo 2. Butter both sides of bread. Heat frying pan on med.-low heat. Add bread and then crack an egg into center of bread. Add a bit of salt and pepper to the egg. Cook for a minute or two and then flip. Cook a minute longer and it's done. Use the center circles to soak up the egg yolk. 3. (You may need to add a glob or two more of butter to pan so bread doesn't stick.) |
