A sweet treat for those that can't tolerate eggs. From our local newspaper. Ingredients:
1 cup shortening |
1 cup brown sugar |
1 teaspoon baking soda |
1 cup flour |
1/4 cup boiling water |
3 cups oatmeal |
1/2 cup pecans |
1 cup chocolate chips |
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 375F. 2. Mix first six ingredients thoroughly. 3. Stir in nuts and chips. 4. Drop by tablespoonfuls onto ungreased baking sheet. 5. Bake for 10 to 15 minutes. |
