Egg Bread (Francis Virginia Tea Room)

This is a cornbread made extra rich with whole eggs. This bread is used to make Hot Egg Bread and Turkey Sandwiches with Giblet Gravy #318126
Ingredients:
1 cup cornmeal
1/2 cup flour
2 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/8 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon sugar
2 large eggs
1 cup buttermilk
2 tablespoons oil
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 450 degrees. Grease 9 x 9 square pan. Put pan in oven to heat. Mix dry ingredients. Beat eggs with milk and oil. Add to dry ingredients. Mix until smooth. Pour into hot pan. Bake until brown. Cut into 4 to 6 pieces. Split for Turkey and Egg Bread Sandwiches (see recipe).
