Ingredients:
2 eggs, beaten
2 cups buttermilk
1 tablespoon shortening, melted
1 cup sifted cornmeal
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 tablespoon sugar
1 teaspoon salt
2 cups milk
Directions:
1. Combine first 7 ingredients; stir in milk. Heat a well-greased 9-inch cast-iron skillet in a 350° oven for 5 minutes or until very hot. Pour batter into hot skillet. Bake at 350° for 1 hour or until a knife inserted in center comes out clean.
