Ingredients:
2 eggs, beaten |
2 cups buttermilk |
1 tablespoon shortening, melted |
1 cup sifted cornmeal |
1 teaspoon baking soda |
1 tablespoon sugar |
1 teaspoon salt |
2 cups milk |
Directions:
1. Combine first 7 ingredients; stir in milk. Heat a well-greased 9-inch cast-iron skillet in a 350° oven for 5 minutes or until very hot. Pour batter into hot skillet. Bake at 350° for 1 hour or until a knife inserted in center comes out clean. |
