This is an excellent and easy recipe for a brunch egg and cheese casserole. Original recipe comes from the More-With-Less cookbook, 1976 edition Ingredients:
5 eggs |
1t salt |
2 to 3 cups shredded cheese (any type) |
2 1/2 cups hot milk |
1 quart bread cubes (any type - for best results use day or two old leftover bread cut up into chunks) |
Directions:
1. Beat 5 eggs until lemon colored. 2. Add 1T salt, a dash pepper and 2 to 3 cups shredded cheese and mix well. 3. Add 2 1/2 cups hot milk and 1 quart bread cubes. 4. Pour into a greased 7 x 11 baking dish. 5. Bake 30 minutes at 325 degree, until just set. 6. Serve warm. 7. Make it your own! 8. Recipe happily accepts changes and additions (chopped sausage, veggies...) |
