I very hearty meat pasta dish. The sauce is center peice, not the pasta. Ingredients:
1 lb ground beef |
16 ounces penne rigate |
1 medium onion |
1 garlic clove |
1 (14 1/2 ounce) can diced tomatoes |
1 (26 ounce) jar spaghetti sauce |
1 (4 ounce) can sliced mushrooms |
1 (4 1/4 ounce) can chopped black olives |
2 cups parmesan cheese |
1 teaspoon chili powder |
1 teaspoon italian seasoning |
Directions:
1. Start 4 qt of water boiling in large pot (6 qt or bigger). 2. In 4.5qt Pot over medium heat. 3. Combine Tomatos, Sauce, Drained Mushrooms and Olives. 4. Chop onion and garlic. Brown the meat with the onion and garlic. Season with chili powder and italian seasoning. 5. Start the pasta once the water is boiling. 6. Stir the cheese into the sauce, the stir in the meat. Keep in Med-Low heat until pasta is done. 7. Drain pasta and immediately combine pasta and sauce back in the large pot the pasta was cooked inches. |
