Ed is actually becoming quite the cook. Now if he will only learn how to clean toliets!
Ingredients:
1 lb ground turkey
1 lb low-fat sausage
3/4 cup chopped onion
1 garlic clove, minced
1 (15 ounce) can stewed tomatoes
1 (15 ounce) can tomato sauce
2 tablespoons parsley flakes
2 teaspoons sugar
1 teaspoon basil leaves
3 cups cottage cheese
1/2 cup parmesan cheese
1 tablespoon parsley flakes
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon oregano
1 (16 ounce) box lasagna noodles (cooked)
3/4 lb mozzarella cheese
1/2 cup parmesan cheese
Directions:
1. Brown turkey burger, sausage, onion and garlic. Drain. Add tomatoes and break up.
2. Stir in tomato sauce, parsley flakes, sugar and basil.
3. Simmer 45 minutes.
4. In a bowl, mix cottage cheese, parmesan cheese, parsley flakes, salt and oregano.
5. In a 9x13 inch pan, layer noodles, cottage cheese mixture and meat sauce.
6. Top with mozzarella and parmesan cheeses. Bake for 45 minutes at 350*. Cool for 15 minutes then serve.
