Thsi is a seasonal dessert to be served with coffee or tea, to ensure a sweet ending for your guests - Ingredients:
5 large granny smith apples, cored, peeled, sliced 1/2 inch pieces |
6 tablespoons butter |
1/2 cup almonds, slivered |
1/2 cup dark brown sugar |
3/4 cup golden raisin |
3 tablespoons dark rum or 3 tablespoons golden rum |
1 sheet frozen puff pastry, defrosted |
sugar |
whipped cream, sweetened with |
1 dash rum |
Directions:
1. preheat oven to 400°F In a pan, melt butter. Add almonds and sugar. Meanwhile, place raisins and rum in a separate bowl and microwave on high for one minute to soften the raisins. Add to pan and toss in apples to coat. Cover and cook for three minutes. 2. Transfer ingredients to Corningware Simply Lite bakeware and place puff pastry loosely over the apples. Slash in three places to vent and sprinkle with a little sugar. 3. Serve while still warm and garnish with a dollop of whipped cream. |
