Sarah Burks of Wathena, Kansas lets her slow cooker simmer up this fuss-free and flavorful Swiss steak. Perfect for busy spring daysâ¦the longer it cooks, the better it tastes! Ingredients:
1 tablespoon king arthur unbleached all-purpose flour |
1/4 teaspoon salt |
1/8 teaspoon pepper |
3/4 pound beef top round steak, cut in half |
1/2 medium onion, cut into 1/4-inch slices |
1/3 cup chopped celery |
1 can (8 ounces) tomato sauce |
Directions:
1. In a large resealable plastic bag, combine the flour, salt and pepper. Add beef; seal bag and shake to coat. 2. Place onion in a 3-qt. slow cooker coated with cooking spray. Layer with the beef, celery and tomato sauce. Cover and cook on low for 6-8 hours or until meat is tender. Yield: 2 servings. |
