Cooking is especially fun when you're making a favorite snack that tastes better than the store-bought version. Garden tomatoes and onions make this homemade salsa so much better than salsa from a jar.Mikel Chapman, Helena, Oklahoma Ingredients:
4 medium tomatoes, chopped |
1 medium onion, chopped |
1/4 cup chunky salsa |
1/2 teaspoon salt |
1/4 teaspoon pepper |
1/4 cup canned chopped green chilies, optional |
Directions:
1. In a large bowl, combine the tomatoes, onion, salsa, salt and pepper. Add the chilies if desired. Cover and refrigerate for several hours. Yield: 4-1/2 to 5 cups. |
