A simple elegant rice pilaf Ingredients:
1 cup of long grain rice |
1/3 cup crushed up pasta (thin spaghetti, vermicelli... ect) |
2 cups of chicken stock |
1/4 cup of white wine |
1/2 a yellow pepper grated |
1 carrot grated |
1/2 a celery rib finely minced |
1/2 an onion finely minced |
2 tablespoons parsley |
1 tablespoon chives |
1 teaspoon tarragon |
2 tablespoons of butter |
Directions:
1. melt the butter in a large saucepan then saute the herbs onions pepper celery and carrot for 2 min. 2. Add the pasta and rice toast the rice and pasta for another min to 2 min. 3. Deglaze with the wine then add the stock bring to a boil and then cover reduce to a simmer covered for 18 to 20 mins |
