An easy appetizer with the flavors of a Reuben, but broiled on the bread, rather than the more common dip preparation. Ingredients:
2 cans corned beef |
1(2lb) bag sauerkraut, well drained |
1/2 cup dill relish |
1/2 cup thousand island dressing(this can be replaced with sour cream, if preferred) |
1lb white cheese(muenster, havarti, mozzarella or the traditional swiss works best), freshly shredded |
1lb loaf party rye or pumpernickel bread |
Directions:
1. Combine all ingredients other than bread in large bowl. 2. Top each piece of bread with a couple T of mixture 3. Broil for about 5 minutes until bread is crisping around edges and topping is hot. |
