This is a quick, crustless quiche I make as a quick breakfast or brunch. You do not make a formal crust for this, but it kind of forms one of it's own as it bakes. You can use whatever meat you want or go meatless. Ingredients:
8 slices bacon (or you can use ham or sausage or just cheese) |
4 ounces shredded cheddar cheese (if going meatless, use more cheese) |
2 tablespoons butter, melted |
4 eggs, beaten |
onion powder to taste |
1 teaspoon salt |
1/2 cup all-purpose flour |
1 1/2 cups milk |
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Lightly grease a 9 inch pie pan. 2. Place bacon (or ham or sausage) in a large, deep skillet. Cook over medium high heat until evenly brown. Drain, crumble and set aside. 3. Line bottom of pie plate with cheese and crumbled bacon. Combine eggs, butter, onion powder, salt, flour and milk; whisk together until smooth; pour into pie pan. 4. Bake in preheated oven for 35 minutes, until set. Serve hot or cold. |
