Easy Pear Gratin With Almond Topping |

4 or 8 servings. Depends on the way you cut it. I love this and I;m so happy to have this easy version. Ingredients:
2 tablespoons butter |
2 tablespoons granulated sugar |
4 small firm pears, halved, peeled and cored |
1 egg |
1/4 cup milk |
1/4 cup flour |
1/8 teaspoon salt |
1/4 cup granulated sugar |
1/4 cup crushed almonds |
Directions:
1. Preheat the oven to 425 degrees. 2. Heavily butter a 9-inch pie plate, preferably glass, with the 2 3. tablespoons butter, and sprinkle the 2 tablespoons sugar over the 4. bottom. Place the halved pears flat-side down in the pie plate. 5. Make the batter by beating together the egg, milk, flour and salt. 6. Pour over the pears. 7. Mix together the 1/4 cup sugar and the almonds; sprinkle over 8. the pears. 9. Bake for 15 minutes. 10. Serve hot or warm. |
