I love recipes that use cake mixes in different ways, especially for short-cut desserts. A friend gave me this one for an easy peach 'cobbler' that has a delicious crunchy topping. Ingredients:
1 stick butter, melted |
2 - 29 oz. cans sliced peaches in heavy syrup |
1 - 18 oz. box yellow cake mix with pudding in the mix |
ground nutmeg, to taste |
1 stick butter, melted (yes, a second stick) |
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. 2. Pour first cube of melted butter in a 13 x 9 inch baking dish. Add peaches, including syrup, to dish. 3. Sprinkle dry cake mix over the top of the peaches. Sprinkle with ground nutmeg, if desired, to taste. Drizzle the second stick of melted butter over the cake mix. 4. Bake for one hour or until topping is golden brown and filling is bubbly. |
