I was a little girl when I watched my Uncle Harry make this recipe. After dinner, it was served piping hot with a scoop of vanilla ice cream on top. The crust is to die for! Ingredients:
29 ounces peach slices in heavy syrup, undrained |
1 cup all-purpose flour |
1 cup sugar |
1 teaspoon salt |
1 tablespoon baking powder |
1 egg, lightly beaten |
1/2 cup butter, melted |
Directions:
1. Empty can of peaches into 2 quart casserole dish. 2. Combine flour, sugar, salt and baking powder in large bowl. Add beaten egg and cut into flour mixture. The majority of the flour mixture will look “crumby.”. 3. Spread flour mixture, evenly, over top of peaches. 4. Pour melted butter on top of flour mixture. 5. Bake in pre-heated 350 f degree oven for about an hour, or until crust is golden brown. |
