Easy Magaj- An Indian Sweet |

Magaj is a delicious sweet confectionary . I love to try different delcious things and I enjoy Indian food and recipes! This is my neighbors recipe from Gujarat, India and this one is easy and does not use Khoya ( boiled milk product ) which is a separate recipe post and is used im some sweet recipes Ingredients:
1 cup besan - chick pea flour |
1 cup powdered sugar |
1/4 cup ghee or melted crisco |
1 tbs milk |
1 tbs ghee or melted crisco |
slivered almonds |
6 pods of caramom crushed into a powder |
Directions:
1. Mix 1 Tbs ghee and 1 Tbs milk into 1 cup of the besan flour. 2. Mix with hands until thoroughly mixed. 3. Sift with a sifter to remove any lumps. 4. In saucepan combine 3/4 cup ghee/milk.flour mixture and saute for 15 minutes on low heat or until light golden in color 5. Remove from heat and let cool well about 45 minutes. 6. Add the powdered sugar and cardamom and mix well. 7. Place in greased pan and add slivered almonds on top. 8. Let cool at room temperature about 6 to 8 hours or overnight 9. Cut into pieces - diamonds or squares - and remove from pan |
