This is based on a Rachael Ray recipe, in fact it may be almost exact. It's SO simple to make and goes alot further than a box of powder. Use any cheese you have handy. Ingredients:
1 lb elbow macaroni (or whatever you have on hand, i usually use penne) |
3/4 cup milk |
1 tablespoon butter |
1 tablespoon flour |
1 dash pepper |
1 dash cayenne pepper (optional) |
2 cups grated cheese (i use medium cheddar) |
2 tablespoons parmesan cheese |
Directions:
1. Cook macaroni until al dente, drain. 2. In pan melt butter, add milk & bring to a low boil. 3. Add flour and stir until milk thickens. 4. Add peppers. 5. Turn stove heat to medium-low and add in cheese, stir until they are melted and incorporated into milk mixture. 6. Remove from heat. 7. Add pasta and stir until coated. |
