Just discovered Bisquick in my old age. Made this for a BBQ and couldn't believe something soooo easy could taste this good! Great for a last minute meal saver. Ingredients:
1 cup uncooked elbow macaroni |
2 cups (8oz) shredded cheddar cheese |
1/2 cup original bisquick |
1 1/2 cups milk (whole milk makes this creamy) |
1/4 teaspoon red pepper sauce (i used tabascco) |
2 large eggs |
Directions:
1. Pre-heat oven to 400. Grease a 9-inch glass pie dish. 2. Place macaroni in the pie dish and sprinkle with 1 3/4 cups of the cheese. Set aside. 3. In a small bowl combine the Bisquick, milk, pepper sauce and eggs until well blended. Pour over macaroni and cheese mixture. 4. Bake 25 to 30 minutes or until a knife inserted near the center comes out clean. Sprinkle with remaining 1/4 cup of cheese and return to the oven for another 1-2 minutes or until the cheese melts. 5. Remove from oven to a wire rack and let rest for 5 minutes. Cut into wedges to serve. 6. **You may add a small can of well drained diced green chilis to this for some extra flavor.** |
