This is a classic latino dish that is easy to prepare, cost effective, and is great to serve to kids Ingredients:
1 lbs. boned pork leftovers |
1 can of chicken broth |
1 can of veggie broth |
1 clobe garlic |
pinch oregano |
1/2 small onion |
1 small can of yellow or white hominy |
dash of salt |
dash of pepper |
1/4 can mild green chili (add less if you don't like a little spice or add more if you like a lot of spice) i typically add 1/8 for the kids. |
Directions:
1. Dump everything into a 3 quart crockpot/slowcooker. 2. Turn on low for 6-8 hours. 3. Turn off 15-30 minutes before eating. 4. Serve and enjoy! 5. Optional: 6. Add tortilla chips crumbled on top 7. Add diced cilantro, diced tomatoes, shredded cheese 8. Add wedge of lime or lemon |
