This is a quick and basic recipe for Granola bars. The recipe is something that I came up with after making substitutions to different variations to suit my tastes. The sky is the limit from here... add fruits, nuts, and/or berries as you like. Ingredients:
1 1/2 cups quick oats |
1/2 cup brown sugar |
1/3 cup chunky peanut butter |
1/4 cup butter |
2 tablespoons maple syrup |
1 1/2 tablespoons honey |
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon |
1 tablespoon dry milk |
1 1/2 teaspoons wheat gluten (to preserve freshness) |
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 300°F. 2. Mix quick oats, brown sugar, dry milk, and cinnamon together in a suitable mixing bowl. 3. In a microwave safe bowl add peanut-butter, maple syrup, butter, and honey. 4. Heat on medium power level until soft. 5. Add softened peanut-butter, maple syrup, butter, and honey to quick oats. 6. Blend with large spoon, and then transfer to 8x8-inch pan. 7. Bake at 300°F for 20 minutes. |
