A great bread recipe that's not only easy but versatile too! It goes great with any meal. Add different flavorings to mix things up. I like to add Italian herbs and parmesan cheese. Ingredients:
1 1/2 cups warm water |
3 tablespoons olive oil, plus a little more |
olive oil, for drizzling |
1 1/4 teaspoons salt |
3 1/2 cups unbleached all-purpose flour |
1 tablespoon instant yeast |
dried herbs (optional) |
other seasoning (optional) |
Directions:
1. Lightly grease a 9x13-inch pan, then drizzle about 1 to 2 tablespoons of olive oil in the bottom. 2. Add all of the ingredients together, and with an electric mixer mix on high for 1 minute. 3. Scoop the sticky batter into the prepared pan, cover the pan with a towel , and let it rise at room temperature for 1 hour, till it's become puffy. 4. While waiting for the dough to rise, preheat the oven to 375°F. 5. Once the dough is done rising gently poke the dough with your finger. 6. Drizzle lightly with olive oil, and sprinkle with seasoning, and/or the dried herbs of your choice, if desired. 7. Bake until bread is golden brown, 35 to 40 minutes. 8. Remove it from the oven, wait 5 minutes, then turn it out of the pan onto a rack. Can be served warm or at room temperature. |
